Franklynn Bartol (they/them)

I'm a relational therapist — this means that I believe we're all shaped by relationships, past and present. From families, friends, and romances to the communities, institutions, and societies we live in, we cannot be understood in isolation. Whether exploring old wounds, recent challenges, or life transitions, I see therapy as an opportunity to honour the parts of yourself that haven't had enough space in your relational world.

Building a deeper connection with yourself and others is often the path to easing stuck symptoms and cycles of suffering. I place great importance on building the trust and candid connection needed to do this work collaboratively. Whether you're coming in the throes of grief, depression, fear, anxiety, confusion, overwhelm, hurt, shame, or rage, I meet you there and we find our way together.

I support both individuals and couples/dyads, either virtually or in-person. My approach is client-led and trauma-informed, guided by an anti-oppressive stance. I hold curiosity for how systems, culture, and identity impact my clients’ lives, relationships, and how we work together. This often means supporting individuals and couples/dyads to contextualize their experiences amidst social and political contexts, alongside their personal histories.

I know how hard it is to share your struggles and trust a new person—I’ve been a client of therapy myself for many years. It’s not easy work! That’s why I’m committed to staying curious about how you’re experiencing the process. My hope is that, over time, you feel able to bring more and more of yourself to our work together.
